Turkey Heaven Mountain Tailgate Hamfest

April 17th, 2003 8AM to 12:00 at the Trickum Valley Rec. center on Hwy 46 east of Heflin about 15 miles and west of Ranburne, AL about 5 or 6 miles.  Take Hwy 46 east out of Heflin cross I 20 heading towards Ranburne still on Hwy 46.  In Trickum Valley between mile marker 12 & 13 there is a old rustic sign on the Right side of the road and a dirt road/driveway to the Recreation Center.  We plan to have a sign up with and arrow pointing to the center.  Talk in will be the 146.865 repeater, PL of 131.8. 

  

Free to sell and free to get in.  Bring your treasures, your giveaways, and maybe even some throwaways.  Have an eyeball QSO, drink a cup of coffee, drink a RC Coca Cola and eat a Moon Pie or what ever cranks your tractor.  Just a friendly time to look and talk ham radio.  Bring your XYL and or a ham friend and make a morning of it.  Contact Gordon McKinney gmckinney@mindspring.com

VE Testing at BirmingHAMfest:

FCC license exams will be given both days.  Saturday beginning at 9 AM sharp and 1:00 PM sharp and also on Sunday at 9AM sharp.

Anyone wanting to test needs to be at least 10 min early and bring copy of their Amateur License (if applicable) and 2 forms of identification.

Directions:  Take I-20 to Exit 188 in Oxford, then go south 1.7 miles, watch for the signs.  From east bound exit off and turn right and go about 1 mile and Hamfest will be on the right. From west bound exit the 188 exit and turn left and cross over the interstate and go 1 mile and hamfest is on the right. The entire Hamfest will be air conditioned with plenty of parking for free.

The Marshall County Auxiliary Radio Services MCARS  and That Other Radio Club (TORT) sponsors the 2004 annual swapfest in Boaz Alabama.
